Noreco electrification program
benefits 30 families in Banilad
BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

At least 30 families in Purok Dap-dap, Barangay Banilad, Dumaguete City, will avail of the electrification program of the Negros Oriental II Electric Cooperative through temporary connections while they are putting up their residences on a public land.

Residents have said that while the program has gone to remote areas, many of them in the urban areas have not availed of it.

Vice Mayor William Ablong responded to this by coordinating with NORECO 2 through general manager Ephraim Taclob. Ablong said the residents have agreed that when the lot will be utilized for public use, they shall surrender or relinquish their rights of possession over the land upon written demand from the city government.

Meanwhile, the Oriental Negros government will hire 83 casual employees to work for health service, as security guards and engineers.

For health services, the province needs 24 nurses, six medical technologists, two pharmacists and a social welfare aid.

A total of 41 security guards are needed to secure the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital, Capitol and other government buildings.

The Provincial Engineers Office will also need 19 engineers to work as assistants for the ongoing construction of the convention center and the Gov. Mariano Perdices Coliseum track oval. Lemence said those who will work under the health services will receive P450 daily, in the engineers office - P400 a day and the security guards will receive P7,000 monthly.*JG
