Japanese language
center opens in city

A Japanese language and learning center opened recently at Casa Orola, Rizal-Hilado street in Bacolod City by the Johnny J. Orola Sr. Memorial Foundation Inc., a press release from the company said.

A 10-week Japanese language program will start March 12 where subjects related to basic Japanese language conversation, writing and reading, Japan history, culture and tradition, work and lifestyle and medical terminologies will be taught.

Businessmen, students, caregivers and skilled workers who want to have a thorough knowledge and background about Japan and its people can enroll now, the press release said. This program is in response to the Philippine government Overseas Employment Program where foreign language skill is a requirement.

Social graces training slated

The Women in Travel-Bacolod, in cooperation with the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Provincial Tourism Office, will hold the first Philippine Protocol and Social Graces Training at Sea Breeze Hotel on March 14, a Capitol press release said.

It is aimed at educating tourism and information officers of local government units and other tourism-based frontliners on the proper protocol and social graces. WIT president Lucy Lizares said the speakers from DFA are deputy chief Adelido Angelo Cruz, and regional director Liza Jane Estalilla.
