The Education Training and Center School-Domingo Lacson National
High School will defend its girls' 13-14 crown in the 2007 Philippine
Series set from April 8-15 in Bauan, Batangas.
Representing the Bacolod Central Little League charter, the
ETCS-DLNHS clouters are hoping to book a return stint to the World
Series in Kirkland, Washington, where they posted an impressive
runner-up finish last year. The champion in the Philippine Series
will earn the right to carry the country's color in the Asia Pacific
championships. In the event that no team challenges the Philippines
for the title, the squad will gain automatic entry into the World
Series.
Coach Lagrimas Ciokon said the core of last year's team are
still available to play this year with only Cherry Bartolome and
Cherrylyn Revellon elevated to the next age-group.
Standout pitchers Veronica Belleza and Analie Benjamin, who
saw action for Negros Occidental in the regional Palaro recently,
are expected to spearhead the squad again.
Ciokon said ETCS will also field another team in the girls' 11-12
division, where it placed third last year. *CPT
