SM opens in Bacolod

Since the opening of SM City Bacolod on March 2, thousands of people, young and old alike have swarmed and trooped to the 16-hectare property of SM Prime Holdings.

A mass was held with 20 priests concelebrating headed by Bishop Vicente Navarra and Vicar General Victorino Rivas, and attended by SM Founder Henry Sy Sr. and his family. After the mass, four priests went around blessing every nook and cranny of the mall. This was followed by the cutting of the ribbon.

It was an open house, every establishment prepared delicious food for their customers, friends, and relatives. SM, on its part, prepared something for the guests in two venues, one at the supermarket at the South wing and another at the VIP Reserved area at the North Wing.

I had an early lunch at Chicken Deli, then went off to L'Kai Sei, Red Ribbon, and to the SM Super Market, where I got stuck at Hua Kong where all my BERKS were enjoying themselves, including the ABS-CBN broadcasting staff. In another table were SM president Tessie Sy-Coson, the Assumption classmate of Patty Cuaycong, Bebot Locsin, Patching Puentevella and Lucille Villanueva.

I missed the opening of SM Department Store, but was present and on time for the throwing of coins and gold chocolate money. Charlene Gonzales-Muhlach gave me one gold chocolate. I wasn't able to talk to her as people kept pushing and pushing. Going back to the supermarket, I partook of some of the food offered by Kamiseta, Lolo's and Dermaline.

Later, with Ninfa, Perla L, and Ivy we decided to go to the shoe department and bought very flat sandals and shoes for our aching feet.

We welcomed the arrival of SM Shopping Mall and left later tired but very pleased.*

REMEMBER:

"They who truly love, show their love."*
