Pag-IBIG set to auction
P2B in housing bonds

The Home Development Mutual Fund, also known as the Pag-IBIG Fund, will auction P2 billion in five-year housing bonds tomorrow. The housing bonds are issued by the HMDF to finance its housing loan program.

Both the Development Bank of the Philippines and the Land Bank of the Philippines will serve as the facility agents/trustee banks.

Pag-IBIG Bacolod branch attorney Imelda Gerangaya said yesterday their branch will serve as the receiving center of the original copy of the bid documents from institutions, corporate investors and developers in Bacolod and Negros Occidental.

Iloilo town pilot area for
IS workers program

The town of Guimbal in Iloilo is among the 19 pilot areas of the nationwide program of the Department of Labor and Employment for poor informal sector workers.

Guimbal is the only area identified as recipient of the as Unlad Kabuhayan Program Laban sa Kahirapan program in Western Visayas. DOLE said the Unlad Kabuhayan or "The Worktrep Program" is aimed towards "making the business of the poor grow," and essentially acts as a bridge that will effectively transform the poor IS workers into real, trained, and productively networked "worktrepreneurs" of the country.

This year, Unlad Kabuhayan Program will be first piloted by some 19 cities or municipalities and will be demonstrated in 32 selected municipalities/cities.

Auto-LPG industry
growing fast: DOE

The Department of Energy has, so far, listed 3,955 auto-LPG vehicles in the country and the industry continues to grow, a report from the DOE said.

These include privately owned and government-owned vehicles have also converted to auto-LPG.

The DOE report said that dispensing stations have also flourished, including 20 service station-based, 11 stand alone stations, five refilling/bulk plant-based, and five garage-based, all in Metro Manila. Meanwhile, in the Visayas, there are at least 20 dispensing stations; seven stand alone; and 13 garage-based stations; and in in Mindanao, there are eight dispensing stations.
