reunion at school in Silay

The reunion of the Graciano Lopez clan of Negros will be held at the Santa Teresa College in Silay City on May 26, Jess Lopez, chairman of the clan council and grandson of Eustaquio Lopez, the cousin of the Ilonggo national hero, said.

Lopez said he will seek assistance from the National Historical Council to put up a permanent historical marker in Barangay Eustaquio Lopez in Silay on property reportedly donated by Eustaquio to the city and the marker will ensure that the name of the place will not be changed later.

Another memorial marker is also being planned in the hacienda formerly owned by Pedro Lopez, younger brother of Graciano where the hero stayed before leaving for Spain. Several more clan members showed up at Saturday's meeting at the Pearl Manor, among them Alex Tupas, owner of the place. Present were Wilfredo Sta. Ana and Rowell Sta. Ana, Romeo and Leticia Octoso said.

May Ann Espina will give a concert with Nenen Espina as their contribution to the reunion.
