Route 7 finally opened

After many years, Route 7 in Barangay Piapi, Dumaguete City, was finally cleared Tuesday morning of a nuisance residential house blocking the road lot.

House owner Crus Tinio agreed to vacate the place after continued negotiations and upon payment of a disturbance fee of P150,000 for the transfer of his residence in a nearby lot.

He had occupied the house for 37 years.

Meanwhile, P100,000 will be legislated for the heirs of the Sayson family who owns the lot.

Mayor Agustin Perdices and Vice Mayor William Ablong supervised the demolition to pave the way for the widening of the road and the cementing project.

Route 7 is a major alternate route for vehicles and its opening is expected to ease up traffic going to the airport road and to Perdices street in the poblacion.*JG
