A sportsfest sponsored by TeleTech Bacolod opened at the Negros Occidental Multi-Purpose
Gym recently. The executives of the firm, and hundreds of their employees donned
their sportsfest team colors as they paraded along the main thoroughfares of the
city, waving proudly their company flag and their respective team banners. The
sportsfest begun with a basketeball tournament won by the Hi-Defenders composed
of employees from the "Customer Service Program." The climax of the day
was the cheering competition, a colorful display of costumes and a grand showdown
to the beat of the drums and music. T he overall cheering competition champion
were the Bears of the DSL Program, second place were the Hi-Defenders of the customer
service program, third place were the Katanas of the mobile program, while the
Blue Dragons of business sport was fourth. Other sporting activities will be played
in the coming months which will culminate with the basketball and closing ceremonies,
and the company's first anniversary in Bacolod. Winners of the different
sporting activities, including the cheering competition will represent the company's
Bacolod division in the national festival of this international in Manila in October.
*** Negros pride Nikki Therese Lim Servando was recently
awarded another gold medal during the 2007 Palarong Pambansa in Koronadal City,
making her a back-to-back champion after emerging as champion in the same category
in the elementary girls double badminton during the 2006 Palarong Pambansa in
Naga City. Nikki is the daughter of Jun and Josephine Servando. This 12-year-old
is a first year high school student at Trinity Christian School in Bacolod City.
Despite her young age, she has already more than 30 local and national titles.*
