gun for solo lead

Buoyed by its opening-day conquest of reigning champion Doņa Montseratt Lopez National High School, the University of St. La Salle guns for the solo lead today against Doņa Hortensia Salas Benedicto NHS in the Negros elimination of the Shakey's Girls Volleyball Invitational League at the USLS College Covered Court.

Gametime is set at 10:30 a.m. with DHSBNHS of La Carlota City also hoping to follow up its 25-8, 25-13 beating of St. Benilde School. Both La Salle, a 25-18, 22-25, 25-13 winner over DMLMNHS Sunday, and DHSBNHS actually have two assignments today with the host team battling St. Scholastica's Academy, one of three squads that will make its tournament debut today, at 4 p.m.

The La Carlota-based spikers tackle Colegio de San Agustin-Bacolod at 3 p.m., shortly after the SBS-DMLMNHS tiff. Also scheduled today is the matches between SBS and La Consolacion College at 8:30, which will be followed by the SSA-DMLMNHS duel.

The Sunday schedule will pit CSA-B and SBS at 9 a.m.; DHSBNHS against SSA at 10 a.m., and the LCC-USLS showdown at 11 a.m. *CPT
