Guv willing to
intervene in CLMMRH
BY CARLA GOMEZ

Negros Occidental Gov. Joseph Maraņon yesterday said he is prepared to intervene in the problem at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City if requested.

Maraņon said those who want him to intervene should write him and specify how they wish him to help.

The Department of Health is currently conducting an investigation into complaints of alleged anomalies at the hospital but some sectors have expressed fears that there will be a whitewash.

Assistant secretary David Liozada, who heads the probe team, has assured that there will be no whitewash.

Meanwhile, Maraņon said he is optimistic that President Gloria Arroyo will approve the conduct of a feasibility study on the proposal to build a bridge that would connect Negros and Panay.

With the opening of an international airport in Iloilo the traffic of passengers between Negros and Panay is expected to increase, he said.

The governor, who returned yesterday from medical tests in Manila, said all his laboratory tests were okay and the doctor sent him home.*CPG
