Twister destroys house,
damages 8 others in Silay
BY GILBERT BAYORAN

A twister yesterday destroyed a house and damaged eight others in Brgy. Lantad, Silay City, and also caused a slight injury to a minor, police said.

Silay police chief Calixto Mabugat said the twister which also drained out the water from the three fishponds of Ric Ledesma, suddenly appeared shortly after noon yesterday in the barangay, without any forewarning. Mabugat said the house of Heide Cabibihan was destroyed, while damaged were the homes of Vincent Gonzales, Celia Suela, Nonito and Noel Aquino, Andres Esparagoza, Lucia Biazon, Grace Alvarez and Nida Ordalia.

A minor identified as Nonoy Aquino, 10, suffered a minor injury on his left foot.

The estimated damage caused by the twister was placed initially at P110,000, without including the fishponds of Ledesma. Last month, 14 houses were also destroyed by a twister in Brgy. San Isidro, E.B.Magalona, but nobody was injured.*GPB
