DOLE to open Philjobnet
Center in Bacolod City

The Department of Labor and Employment 6 will open its Philjobnet Center at the DOLE Bacolod District Office on June 15.

Philjobnet is an internet-based job and applicant matching system which seeks to fasttrack job and manpower search for both applicants and employers, respectively.

DOLE 6 will inaugurate its first Philjobnet Center in Western Visayas today in Iloilo City.

The Iloilo Center, situated at the 2nd floor of DOLE Regional Office in St. Clement's Bldg., Luna St., La Paz District, will accommodate jobseekers who want to register online through the Philjobnet.

Labor Regional Director Teresita Manzala said registering with the Philjobnet will facilitate jobseekers' access to jobs and employment opportunities.

Manzala said that through the facility, applicants can access thousands of vacancies posted on the site, along with employers needing workers with technical and vocational skills. The Philjobnet Center can facilitate the registration of 10 jobseekers a day at an average of 40 minutes per applicant.

Manzala said DOLE is also planning to set up LGUs-based Philjobnet centers, although some city and municipal Public Employment Service Offices in Region 6 are already conducting off-line registration of jobseekers and 2007 graduates from both tertiary and technical-vocational schools.*
