BY CEDELF TUPAS

Andres Bonifacio Elementary School racked up three straight victories Saturday to show the way in the elementary boys' division of the University of St. La Salle-Youth Football Center Development Cup Football Tournament at the USLS pitch.

The ABES booters drubbed Felisa, 8-0, before squeaking past Pontevedra, 2-1, and Handumanan, 2-0 to get their campaign off to a flying start. La Salle took the temporary lead in the high school girls' divisions as it blanked Handumanan, 6-0, and tripped St. Michael Academy of Pontevedra, 3-1.

In other games, St. Michael posted the most one-sided win of the tournament so far, beating University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos, 9-0, after Bacolod Tay Tung High School cruised to a 2-0 triumph over St. John's Institute.

In the elementary boys' tournament, Pontevedra defeated Handumanan-A, 3-0, while Handumanan-B routed Bago, 5-0.

Bago held La Salle-B to a 1-all stalemate, before USLS-A defeated Felisa, 2-0. The La Sallian "A" squad also toppled Handumanan-B, 2-1, for its second straight win. *CPT
