AT NEGROS MUSEUM
Children's program launched

The Negros Museum recently launched the Negros Museum Children's Program with Bacolod City first lady Elsa Leonardia and Congressional spouse Patching Puentevella, leading the ceremonial shower of confetti, at the re-opening of the Tuklas Children's Center, a press release from the organizers said.

Tuklas Children's Center directress Lyn Loarca-Mapa explained that Tuklas, a Hiligaynon word which means "to discover" embodies the Center's aims to provide cultural enrichment to children and their families. Negros Cultural Foundation officers who attended the event were NCF president Lyn Gamboa, vice-president Cristina Montelibano, and members of the Board of Trustees Lita Cruz, Yolly Kilayko, and Cely Jugo. Guests included parents of the Pre-school program, faculty from University of St. La Salle, and artists, the press release said.

Ongoing programs of the TCC include a Pre-School for 2 to 5 year olds, a Children's Library will open to the public on Saturdays, and a year-round art workshop featuring cartooning, teen theatre, visual basics, oil painting and photography.

Those interested in the TCC and its programs, may call The Negros Museum located at Gatuslao Street in Bacolod City with Tel. Nos. 433-4764 or 708-5080, the press release added.*
