Cops arrest 4
for 'theft' in city

Four persons, one of them a minor, were arrested by department store security guards and tanods for alleged theft violations in Bacolod City during the weekend, the police said.

Pearly Joy Casilagan, 20, of 2nd Road, Alunan Yulo, Brgy. 35, John Rey Evangelio, 18, of Purok Greenfield, Brgy. Tangub, both in Bacolod City, and a 13-year-old boy from Brgy. Ma-ao, Bago City, Negros Occidental, were endorsed to Police Station 1 by mall security guards for separate shoplifting Saturday.

Recovered from Casilagan were a 200-ml bottle of hair conditioner worth P74.50, a 200-ml bottle of shampoo worth P96.75, a P40.50 tube of toothpaste, and two blouses valued at P479.50, police records showed. The police recovered a ball cap worth P129.75 from Evangelio who allegedly took the item from a sports shop in a mall in Bacolod City at about 6 p.m. Saturday.

The police also retrieved three bottles of cologne and four pieces of batteries costing a total of P215 from the teenager who was allegedly caught in the act of stealing the items by a security guard at Lopue's San Sebastian at about 2:50 p.m. on July 28.

Meanwhile, Elsie Jalando-on, 25, of Brgy. Rizal, Silay City, Negros Occidental, was arrested by barangay tanods for allegedly taking P1,140 in cash from the pocket of Dennis Cabales, of Brgy. Cabug, Bacolod City at the city public plaza at about 7 p.m. Saturday, the police said.*PP
