Montelibano Cup
semifinals today

Doņa Montserrat Lopez Memorial School is assured of one seat in the championship as its Team A and B clash in the semifinals of the 15-Under division of the inaugural Mayor Jose "Oti" Montelibano Basketball Cup at the Natalio Velez Gym in Silay City today. St. John's Institute, the top seed in Bracket A with a 2-0 record, meets Don Bosco Technical Institute in the other semifinal match with the winner advancing to the championship match at 12 noon on Sunday.

DMMHS-A duplicated SJI's feat in Bracket B. The Silay-based cagers, however, encountered a stiff challenge, before coming away with a 53-46 triumph over Barangay 6 Sunday.

Their performance was a stark contrast a day earlier when they blitz past University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos, 68-49.

SJI was actually tied with DMMHS-B and Barangay 5 with 2-1 records but the Filipino-Chinese school advanced as the top seed due to a better winning quotient.

Don Bosco caught the last bus to the semifinals, following a tight 72-69 victory over Barangay 6.

St. John's 12-Under squad is also seeing action in the semifinals today against a still undetermined opponent, depending on the result of the matches between Davies and Bagtic and the SJI-B-Bagtic clash early today.

Guinhalaran also barged into the 12-Under semis and will play the winner between Stallions and Barangay Rizal.

The 12-Under championship match is scheduled at 10:30 on Sunday, followed by the 15-Under finals. *CPT
