Dr. Ben Malayang III, president of Silliman University in Dumaguete City, said infrastructures have been put in place for the university to become a shared institution.

Malayang said that everybody in the system knows exactly what to do in responding to happenings within the campus. He said a crisis response unit headed by university pastor Rev. Noel Villalba was formed and a response intervention center was organized to address concerns and inquiries through the 2101 hotline number.

The project also allows the university to immediately connect to parents during crisis situations.

to anomalous transactions
BY MARICAR ARANAS

Dumaguete Vice Mayor Woodrow Maquiling announced that he will move to investigate the alleged "anomalous" transactions involving City Administrator.

Maquiling claimed that the Dumalag Concrete Products, which is associated with City Administrator Dominador "Junnie" Dumalag has been supplying the city with sand and gravel for several years now, during his privilege speech at the session of the Sangguniang Panlungsod Thursday.

Under the law, Maquiling said, government officials and employees are prohibited from having a "direct or indirect" pecuniary interest in any government transaction. Reacting to the allegation, Dumalag said that the entity is being run by his brother and his son, and he has not in anyway influenced the decision of the city in instances where the supply of sand and gravel were awarded to the firm.
