Bacolod Bishop Vicente Navarra led the installation of Fr. Felix Pasquin as rector of the San Sebastian Cathedral yesterday.

Pasquin replaced Msgr. Victorino Rivas, who remains as vicar general diocese and president of the John Paul II Pontifical Institute on Marriage and Family. In a mass celebrated at the cathedral, the bishop presented to Pasquin the members of the Parish Pastoral Council, whose functions will be under his supervision

. The new rector of the cathedral also signed documents turned over to him by the bishop relating to his new duties and functions.

Aside from being the rector of the cathedral, Pasquin also heads the Mass Media and Communications Office of the diocese.

Pasquin said his primary pastoral duty is to take care of the parishioners in their spiritual life and to implement the plans of the bishop, who is technically the parish priest of the cathedral.

Facilitating and sustaining the growth of Basic Ecclesiastical Communities in the San Sebastian parish and re-organizing the parish pastoral council and its finance committee are also among the responsibilities handled by the rector, Pasquin said.

Born in Pototan, Iloilo, Pasquin turns 62 on July 29. He finished his Philosophy studies in 1969 at the Sacred Heart Seminary in Bacolod City and his Theology in 1972 at Maryhill School of Theology in Manila.

He was ordained priest, also at the San Sebastian Cathedral, on December 23,1972 .*NAB
