| A fabulous 50th wedding anniversary It
was the loveliest night of the year for Rudy and Janette Remitio, when they celebrated
their 50th wedding anniversary recently with a grand and glorious celebration
at L'Fisher Hotel. Bacolod's 'crème-de-la-crème', came in full force -
the ladies wearing their exquisite evening gowns with glittering jewelry and the
men, dashing in their barongs. The meticulously planned affair was orchestrated
by the couple's children Jing, Janina, Juvi, Ronna, Mitch and Raffy. The entire
family, including the in-laws and adorable grandchildren played a part to make
the affair a truly beautiful and meaningful occasion. The décor was simply staggering.
Towering crystal vases filled with long-stemmed white lilies formed the centerpiece
for each table. Janette looked so slim and stunning in her elegant ecru
gown, superbly designed by Bacolod's Tony de Ramos. No wonder Rudy was the picture
of a proud and happy groom! The wine flowed before, during and after dinner. Everyone
enjoyed the splendid buffet filled with gustatory delights. The evening's
entertainment featured some surprise numbers. Janette and Rudy are well-known
for their love of music and dancing. They were serenaded with their favorite love
songs by the performers. A big surprise was Edgar Abada, who sang "Nancy with
the Laughing Face" (Wow Ed, you were such a revelation!). One of the couple's
sons spoke about his parents' great and happy relationship for fifty years and
so he sang, "How do You Keep the Music Playing?" Listening to this beautiful love
song, is almost like listening to the soundtrack of their happy marriage. Rudy
and Janette are the best examples of "togetherness" in a married couple. The fun-loving
couple opened the dancing with guests joining in till the wee hours.* |
