| Cebu Pacific continues to enjoy between 80 and 83 percent passenger
load for its daily flights from Bacolod to Manila and Cebu, an airline representative
said yesterday. Even during traditionally low travel seasons, the airline
still has an 80 to 85 percent load factor, RG Orense, corporate communications
officers, said in a press briefing at the Casino Filipino Hotel. He said Cebu
Pacific expects to hit 5 million to 5.5 million passengers by the end of 2007,
considering that as of July alone they have already flown about 4.7 million passengers.
At present, the airline has four daily flights to Manila and one to Cebu.
He said that with Cebu Pacific cutting its "Go" fare rates by up to 65
percent all-year-round, they are expecting more Filipinos to travel around the
Philippines and to its neighboring countries like Hongkong, Bangkok and Taiwan.
Fare rate for Bacolod to Cebu is now only P98, but including taxes and
surcharges, will run up to P895. Orense said their Bacolod-Cebu flights
connect Negrense passengers to Puerto Princesa, Kalibo and Davao. In September
and October, Cebu Pacific will launch four new flights to China, in addition to
its existing eight international destinations. The Shanghai route will be opened
on September 12; Xiamen, September 26; Guangzhou, October 10; and Macau, October,
