Tay Tung, MCA cagers trip rivals

Bacolod Tay Tung High School and Mansilingan Christian Academy posted narrow wins at the start of the Basketball Unified Sports Group – Sharp Cup 12-Under Tournament at the Po Hang gym Saturday.

A press release from organizers said Tay Tung upset St. Benilde School, 63-56, while MCA defeated St. Rose of Lima School, 52-48.

Orvie Bautista and Kib Montalbo made 20 and 18 points, respectively to pace Tay Tung, mentored by Bobby Tee.

But SBS, coached by Christian Escote, took the headstart in the Under-17 tournament, winning over MCA, 56-51.

Jan Eriqa Paltriguera of Trinity Christian School was chosen Ms. Sharp Cup 12 Under, while Ma. Ysabelle Nusog of BTTHS was adjudged the best muse in the 17-Under category. *
