BAIS ASKS LEONARDIA
‘Authorize councilors to act on land titling’

A resolution requesting the Mayor to authorize some members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod to follow up the status of the titling of the land at the reclamation area that belongs to the city will be filed by Councilor Homer Bais today.

The resolution is requesting that Councilors Dindo Ramos, Napoleon Cordova and Arturo Parreño be authorized to follow up and expedite the titling of the reclaimed lots owned by the city based on the memorandum of agreement executed on May 19, 2000, entered into by the Philippine Reclamation Authority, the City of Bacolod and the Bacolod Real Estate Development Corp., that was approved by the Office of the President on Sept. 15, 2000.

The resolution said that, based on the MOA, the PRA (formerly the Philippine Estate Authority) is responsible for the titling of the reclaimed land in its name and convey the same to the city.

The eventual issuance of the title to the reclaimed lands is for the protection of the interest of the city and for the general welfare of the constituents of Bacolod, it also said.*CGS
