Amonsot undergoes three tests
BY CEDELF TUPAS

Filipino boxer Czar Amonsot underwent three CT scans yesterday that disproved initial findings that he had a little blood clot in his brain as later tests have proven negative, philboxing.com reported yesterday.

In a bloody brawl Sunday, the 21-year-old Amonsot was knocked down twice and suffered a unanimous decision loss at the hands of WBO lightweight champion Michael Katsidis of Australia.

Amonsot is set to undergo one more MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) and if there are no complications, he will be released from the Las Vegas Hospital, the boxing website said.

In a television interview Michael Aldeguer, the son of boxing patron Tony Aldeguer, said that there may have been a tiny blood clot but it was “outside the brain” and if there was, doctors wanted to make sure it would not progress to the brain.

Amonsot’s cutman, Tony Martin, in an email message to philboxing.com, said hospital staff have informed him that Amonsot may be released today.

“The Nevada Athletic Commission are very strict here, reason why Czar has had so many tests plus the hospital has to be one hundred percent sure before they can release him, because of the legal side of things,” Martin said.*CPT
