'Shy Blue Moon'

It's never too late to learn something new. For decades and after hearing the song a zillion times, I finally erudited what a "Blue Moon" was after getting an invite from Antulang's heiress, enchanting Annabelle Lee-Adriano for their party at that "six star" (if there is such a rating) fabulous resort, reminiscent of Bronte's Weathering Heights, so, so romantic and all.

When there are two full moons in a month (which is "tres" rare) the second is called a "Blue Moon", which is meant to elicit life, love and fortune. Taking cognizance of this rare occurrence, the "downright nice folks" Lee family hosted cocktails, diner and an overnight stay at give-away prices. The full house was made up of NegOr's young chichi party goers like the Yoldi party animals, Tinchu and Lisa Perdices, the Derma haus Rotea couples, Ramon, Miren and Monica Miciano, Micah and Mikel Teves with girl friend Nadia Sevilla, pal Kathy Arroyo, Marilou Ortiz and Bing Carmona, Boy Flores with Emma Larena, Titus Macias in the company of the Bais Teves clan led by Charito Teves, and many more sophisticates.

They started the party by downing gallons of "Blue Moon" cocktails, dining on a generous buffet spread of freshest greens, fish, chicken, tender beef, the ever present Lechon, desert Buko-Pandan salad and toasting the whole night through to a shy moon that teased and peeked on us. Cool rain was in constant battle with the moon, just like a lover's quarrel that added to the romantic feel of the eve. It was a night of contrast, it was neither "by the light of the silvery moon" (a few did croon) nor did the "blue moon see us standing alone." A few did "fly to the moon" with a little more than enough of "Blue Moons." Ah, enchanting moon where were you, may be you won't be shy two-and-a-half years from now.

Antulang grows "posher" and "posher" with the passage of time, earning the reputation of being the in place to go to, and be seen in the south. The place is so beautiful that Bench shot their summer and fall catalogue there recently. Ben Chan's army of artists and models, hunks and nymphs, the likes of Rafael Rossel, Angelica Panganiban, Francine Prieto, Keanna Reeves and the up-and-coming were seen all over the place. It was another fun time and hoping for many more. Nous!*
