Rotarians hold
joint induction

The Rotary Clubs of Bacolod East and Bacolod Marapara held joint induction ceremonies Saturday at the Sugarland Hotel in Bacolod City, a press release from event organizers said.

Inducted president of Bacolod East was Deogracias "Bong" Estrella, a crocodile farmer and a Rotarian for seven years. He took over from Maricar Octaviano. The new president of Bacolod Marapara is Eduardo "Ma'ac" Coscolluela, a local businessman and a Rotarian for 28 years, who took over from Robert Harland.

Coscolluela said the thrust of his term is to share resources, time and talents for the cause of Rotary. Estrella added a quote from Robert Kennedy, "Some men see things the way they are, and ask why? I dream of things that never were, and ask why not?," the press release said.

Guest of honor and keynote speaker was former Negros Occidental Governor and now Presidential Adviser for Western Visayas, Rafael "Lito" Coscolluela, who discussed the new Bacolod (Silay) Airport, the comprehensive agrarian reform program and health and education. He urged all Rotarians to include local issues in their activities, the press release said.*
