Luzon cops apprehend
NegOr 'most wanted'
BY JUANCHO GALLARDE & MARICAR ARANAS

A robbery and murder suspect who had jumped bail in the city in 2006, was arrested in Quezon province recently, Dumaguete City police chief, Supt. Dionardo Carlos, said.

Carlos brought back to Dumaguete Christopher Bendijo, a resident of Zamboanguita town, Oriental Negros, from Quezon where he was apprehended for robbery with homicide charges.

He is one of the 10 most wanted persons under the PNP provincial command list, records revealed. After he jumped bail in May 8, 2006, Carlos said Bendijo could have been involved in other crimes in Dumaguerte such as the Petron gas station robbery in Maluay, Zamboanguita, and in carnapping activities.

Bendijo was also linked to the robbery of an American national who was withdrawing money from a local bank. Carlos said the police may file additional cases against Bendijo.

The suspect was first arrested in Sibulan town for illegal possession of firearms, where, he told the DAILY STAR, he is a former member of the Philippine Army.*JG/MA
