| New La Salle President La Salle Bacolod, my Alm Mater,
has gone a long way, from being an exclusive school for boys to the co-ed university
it is today. Its tenth president, Br. Raymundo Suplido, FSC, who hails
from Valladolid, Negros Occidental, was installed recently in Investiture Rites
held at the University of St. La Salle Coliseum. Present were Br. Armin
Luistro, FSC, president of De La Salle Philippines, Inc., Br. Visitor Edmundo
Fernandez, FSC, USLS Board of Trustees chairman Dr. Oscar Hilado, and outgoing
president Br. Gus Boquer, FSC. The new president received the Presidential
Medallion and the Mace and recited the Pledge of Responsibility before giving
his inaugural address. Bishop of Bacolod Vicente Navarra, DD, gave the Apostolic
Blessing after the Community Prayer led by the Brother Visitor. Brother
Ray finished his elementary education at La Salle Bacolod in 1959, and came back
to Bacolod in 1970 - 1972 as a high school teacher. He made his final vows as
a La Salle Brother in 1972, and has professional training experiences in Education
and Psychology. He completed his AB and BSE and his MA in Educational Management
from De La Salle University - Manila. He also studied in Rome earning a Baccalaureate
and then a Licentiate in Clinical Psychology from the Pontifical Gregorian University
. In 2007, he completed his doctorate studies in Counseling Psychology
at De La Salle University - Manila. He served for three years as the Brother Visitor
for the Philippine District of the La Salle Brothers before his appointment as
member of the Superior General's Council in Rome, the highest international governing
body of the La Salle Brothers.* |
