The Oriental Negros Sanggunian has confirmed the reappointment of provincial attorney Erwin Vergara during its regular session, Thursday, at the Provincial Capitol Session Hall, Dumaguete City.

Board Member Marcelo Adanza had opposed Vergara's reappointment, citing his personal experience with the PLO chief, regarding an expropriation case while he was still mayor of Zamboanguita.

Adanza said the municipality had to pay P2.7 million instead of P400,000 and that Vergara was to blame for it.

Vergara assured local government units that he will defend them to the best of his ability and prove his worth to Gov. Emilio Macias II who has his full trust and confidence in him.*JG
