IN SIQUIJOR
LGUs get BIARSP infra projects

The Department of Agrarian Reform in Siquijor recently turned over its BIARSP-assisted infrastructure projects in various Agrarian Reform Communities to local government units.

Recipients were the provincial government for the repair and rehabilitation of farm-to-market roads of Pili-Canghunoghunog, Siquijor; Timbaon-Cangmunag, San Juan; and Licoan-Bogo, Maria; Enrique Villanueva locality for concreting of Lotloton communal irrigation system; repair and rehabilitation of Capalasanan 3-classroom building in Lazi; repair and rehabilitation of Licoan H.E. building -- Maria; rehabilitation of Catulayan 2-classroom building -- San Juan; and that of the 2-classroom buildings in Brgys. Cang-asa and Banban in Siquijor. Meanwhile, Siquijor joined the nationwide celebration of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program Month in June which was highlighted by the distribution of Certificates of Land Ownership Awards to agrarian reform beneficiaries, and the blessing of the newly renovated DAR provincial office at Caipilan, Siquijor, Siquijor.

Present were Msgr. Larry Catubig, parish priest of Siquijor; Gov. Orlando Fua, Jr., Mayors Richard Quezon, Edwin Quimno, Orville Fua and Rebecca Padayhag; director Hugo Yonzon and assistant director Norma Padigos of the DAR Central Office Public Affairs Staff; regional director Datu Yusoph Mama, and Dr. Antonio del Socorro of DAR Regional Office 7, and Grace Fua , PARO of DAR Oriental Negros.*RG
