Mt. Everest climbers Leo Oracion, Erwin Pastour Emata, Carina
Dayondon, Noelle Wenceslao and Janet Belarmino are arriving in Bacolod
Saturday to conduct inspirational talks at the University of St.
La Salle and University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos, event organizer
Pobbie Limas of the Recoletos Association of Mountaineers said.
Limas said that a caravan will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday,
before the mountaineers proceed to USLS for an open forum, where
they will share their experiences about their climbs.
The Mt. Everest team will be at UNO-R from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
also on Saturday.
A mall tour for the team is scheduled from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Limas
added. It will mark the second time Oracion and Emata will visit
the city, after their successful Mt. Everest conquest in May last
year. Dayondon, Wenceslao and Belarmino were the first Southeast
Asian women to reach the peak.*CPT
