Montserrat cagers
unbeaten; 3 teams on top

Doņa Montserrat Lopez Memorial High School's "B" team registered two victories over the weekend to gain the early lead in the 15-Under division of the inaugural Mayor Jose "Oti" Montelibano Basketball Cup in Silay City.

Three teams --- St. John's Institute-A, Stallions and Davies, which scored two wins each, are on top of the 12-Under event at the Natalio Velez Gym.

DMMHS B trounced Stallion, 67-61, before defeating Barangay 5, 73-63. Montserrat A made it a perfect start for the Silay-based school with a 54-50 nipping of Don Bosco Technical Institute Saturday.

In another 15-Under game, Barangay 5 squeaked past SJI, 79-76. The SJI cagers bounced back with an 89-58 rout of Stallions, while Guinhalaran B rolled over Barangay Bagtic, 62-46.

Posting the biggest win was SJI-A, which massacred Guinhalaran B, 99-29, in the 12-Under tournament. SJI-A also registered a lopsided 79-54 win over Barangay Rizal.

In joining SJI and Davies on top of the heap, the Stallions whipped Don Bosco, 63-57, after cruising past Guinhalaran, 53-25, in the opening match. Davies, on the other hand, proved too much for SJI-B, 74-60, and Barangay 5, 59-52.*CPT
