DPWH to expropriate
Bilbao Hinobaan land
BY CARLA GOMEZ

Landowner Joaquin Bilbao yesterday said Kabankalan Regional Trial Court Judge Henry Arles has put on hold cases involving his family's property in Hinobaan that the highway passes through, that the Department of Public Works and Highways has failed to pay for.

The judge archived the cases after the DPWH agreed to begin expropriation proceedings on the Hinobaan property in a month, Bilbao said. This is good news, that is all we have been asking for, Bilbao said.

Bilbao had began charging a toll on vehicles passing through the highway on his family's property and later closed it in protest against the DPWH failure to begin expropriation proceedings and pay his family.*CPG . .
