bowlers triumph

Barangay I/ESD AMOR and ON-BACIBA ruled their divisions in the first Tinaglimahan Bowling Championship Sunday night at the New Top's Millennium Plaza in Bacolod City.

The twice-to-beat Brgy.1 squad overpowered Sharp Team in the deciding match, 568-540, to claim the top prize in the men's category, after losing the first game. Wearing the uniform of the champion squad were Allan Baer, Roger Flores, Steve Ramos, Edgar Allan del Rosario, Cesar Sumaylo and Dan Dadivas, while Zards Odango, Rey Balaan, Mandoy Hervias, Fred Mapano and Fred Empio played for Sharp.

Silverado ASSFBI Bowling Team composed of Norman Pineda, Pete Aplaon, Nene Borlado, Nonoy Gatila and Irwin Mazarte settled for second runner-up honors.

ON-BACIBA reigned supreme in the women's bracket by crushing Firefly, 526-514, in the finals of the event, organized by the Active Solid Strikers Fellowship Bowlers, Inc./Firefly Bowlers.

The members of the winning team were Cora Romero, Precy Pillo, Lars del Castillo, Sharon Sioson and Glo Pution. Firefly was represented by Vilma Robles, Tess Robles, Susan Robles, Nelly Rendon, Yolly Tan and Mildred Coleongco.

RR Pincrushers who placed second runner-up were Cherryl Ramos, Weena Magturo, Leda Exito, Jumilen de la Cruz and Mary Jane Diamante.

Meanwhile, the Mayor Ramon Torres Cup Bowling Tournament is tentatively set on July 28 and 29 at the Plaza Arcade Bowling Alley in Bago City.

It will start at 1 p.m. Registration is pegged at P1,800 including alley fees.*HLG
