PNP holds suspect in slay of married woman
A jobless person accused of molesting his sister-in-law in year 2000, is now temporarily
detained at the police lock-up cell after a witness tagged him also as a suspect
in the recent hold up-slay of a married woman in Bago City, Negros Occidental.
The lifeless body of Jenniver Pelingon, 33, that bore multiple
stab wounds was found by his neighbors at Km. 14 in Brgy. Calumangan, Bago City,
on Saturday night. SPO3 Isabelita Dioso, Bago chief of the
Bago police Women and Children's Concerns Desk, yesterday said indications showed
that the assailant attempted to rape Pelingon, as her pants and underwear had
been pulled down. Dioso, however, said a post-mortem report
showed that she had not been molested. The bag of Pelingon
was also missing indicating that she had been robbed, police investigations also
showed. The police witness whose identity is being withheld,
is also the brother-in-law of the person invited for questioning identified as
Ramiro Hele, alias Ramy. Police investigations also said
that Pelingon was on her way home at Km 14 in the barangay, when she was waylaid
by the suspect. Several minutes before the incident, the police witness, who was
mistaken for a woman, was almost pounced upon by the suspect who was hiding behind
a tamarind tree, at the crime scene. Dioso said Hele had
been detained in previous years for allegedly molesting his sister-in-law in July
16, 2000. However, the rape case filed against him was later withdrawn by his
brother and other members of the family, for unknown reasons. The hold up-slay
incident came three week after 13-year Ma. Teresa Medrano was also raped and brutally
killed by still unidentified suspects in Brgy. Don Jorge Araneta, also in Bago
City. Dioso said they are still waiting for the results of
the laboratory examinations on the bloodstains found in the house of one of the
suspects in the barangay.*GPB back to
