CLMMRH mgm't
team set to arrive
BY CARLA GOMEZ

The new team set to take over the management of the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City is expected to arrive today.

Bryan Baylon, CLMMRH chief administrative officer, said a source informed him of the scheduled arrival of the team. Health Secretary Francisco Duque III has signed an order for the management team's immediate takeover and the transfer of three top CLMMRH officials to Cebu, Dr. Robert So, Duque's chief executive assistant, told the DAILY STAR last night.

Up for transfer are Dr. Domingo Vega, CLMMRH chief, Dr. Benito Bionat, chief of clinics, and Baylon.

However, Bionat is questioning the transfer for alleged lack of due process, and Baylon is already serving a 90-day suspension.

Both had blown the whistle on the questionable and excessive purchase of oxygen at the hospital.

Duque had earlier said the CLMMRH management team is composed of Dr. Jaime Bernadas, Region 10 assistant regional director, who will take the place of Vega as chief of hospital, Dr. Epifania Simbul of the National Children's Hospital in Quezon City who will take over from Bionat as chief of clinics, and Carlito Pilirin of the Davao Regional Hospital in Tagum who will be the acting administrator.

Dr. Aileen Javier of the National Kidney Transplant Institute will be the adviser to the new management group, he added.*CPG
