6 persons collared for
theft, rugby use

Six persons were arrested by the police for theft and substance abuse charges in Bacolod City, Saturday, the Philippine National Police said.

Joan Gabitanan, 22, and Daisy Garlando, 41, both of Fuentebella Subdivision, Brgy. Taculing, Bacolod City, were endorsed to Police Station 1 by Gaisano Bacolod Department Store security guard Abner Salvallon, for allegedly understating the price of an unidentified amount of textile at about 3:45 p.m. on Saturday, police reports said.

Salvallon told the police that Gabitanan marked the item bought by Garlando at P299.15 but a supervisor who checked the receipt later found out that the textile was actually worth P1,386.75. Garlando told the DAILY STAR that the cloth was indeed under priced but refused to elaborate.

Meanwhile, four minors were also endorsed to Police Station 1 by Edgardo Amaro, 39, after they were allegedly caught sniffing rugby at the Bacolod City Central Market Saturday, police records showed.

Two of them were from Bacolod, the one was from Binalbagan, and the other from Hinigaran, both in Negros Occidental. They were remitted to the Social Development Center by the police, the PNP said.*PP
