A grand birthday bash

Friends and neighbors of Mayor Bing Leonardia at Rosario Street must have been wondering when, at 3 a.m., Tuesday they found out that the Alliance Group of City Hall, the B.C.C. led by Pastor Aglatar, the Home for the Blind choir and John Leonardia were serenading the good mayor.

Late in the day, Father Naring de la Cruz, parish priest of Fatima Church said the Thanksgiving Mass at the open field of Palmas del Mar that thousands attended.

After the Mass, an AVP presentation by the City Hall employees called "This is the Moment" was held, with matching music sang by Martin Nievera, followed by a dance presentation by City Hall staff "Kembot," a solo numbers, and one of them was the daughter of Mayor Bing's classmate, Pinky Jover.

Also presented were the terracotta painting by JK Alano and Dionisio de la Cruz, from the Dagyaw group of Artists, and City Cooperative Development staff headed by Brenda Berdeos.

Last were the hundreds of well-wishers greeting Mayor Bing through video.

Among the VIPs who graced the occasion were Gov. Joseph Maraņon, ABC president Manolet Escalante, Vice Mayor Thaddy Sayson, Mayor Oti Montelibano, city council members, Teletech officers and staff, the Filipino-Chinese community and many more.

The celebrator has millions of plans for the City of Smiles and is looking forward for the most awaited, the New Government Center building to be finished.

To Mayor Bing, may you have more years to live.

Remember: Don't walk behind me nor in front of me, just walk beside me and be my friend.*
