'79 is still leading

Class '78 and Class '79 is still leading in the ongoing 12th St. Joseph High School - La Salle Alumni Bowling Tournament at the Lopue's East Bowling Center in Bacolod City.

The Elmer Liboon led Class '78 is on top of the overall standing in Class A category with a total collection of 4,397 pinfalls followed by Class '86 with 4,388; Class '84, 4,333; Class '68, 4,318 and Class '83, 4,287.

Class '79 headed by Boy Wingpo took the leadership in bracket B with 4,153 balls.

Completing the five-team cast are Class '85 with 4,045; Class '81, 4,036; Class '75, 4,035 and Class '82, 3,840.

Commissioner Jun Porras, of the hosting Class '82 said the semi-final rounds in the battle for the master bowler title is set on Saturday, after the team competition.

Meanwhile, the one-day first Tinaglimahan Bowling Championship is scheduled on Sunday at the New Top's Millennium Plaza in Bacolod City.

The Active Solid Strikers Fellowship Inc./Firefly organized event will start at 1 p.m.

Up for grabs for the top three winners in the men's division is P6,000 worth of gift certificates for the champion; P4,000, first runner-up, and P3,000, second runner-up.

At stake for the women's champion is P4,000 and P2,000 for the No.2 squad. The master bowler in two divisions will receive P500 each, organizers said.*HLG
