MOA with AFP to
benefit schools

The Armed Forces of the Philippines entered into a Memorandum of Agreement with various universities and colleges in Oriental Negros for the implementation of the AFP Educational Benefit System Friday, at the Bethel Guest House Hotel, Dumaguete City.

The accredited schools are Colegio de Santa Catalina de Alexandria, Foundation University, Negros Oriental State University, Silliman University, St. Paul University and Villaflores College in Tanjay City.

Lt. Col. Rizaldo Limoso, chief and general manager of the AFP- Educational Benefit System, said the program is intended for the orphaned children of soldiers who died during operations. He added that the program also aims to provide educational benefits and assistance to enhance the morale and welfare of military personnel and their dependents, and bridge the educational opportunity gaps.

The AFP-EBS offers scholarships, discount and free tuition to all six schools accredited by the AFP-EBS program.

Limoso said this is the first year the program was implemented in the province, and he is hoping to get a positive response.*RG
