Paduano's godparents

Top Negros Occidental officials were among the godparents at the wedding of the national commander of the Revolutionary Proletarian Army-Alex Boncayao Brigade at the L'Fisher Hotel in Bacolod City Sunday afternoon.

Among the godparents of Joseph Stephen Paduano, alias Carapali Lualhati, 42, and Ma. Lalaine O. Lam. 43, were Rep. Ignacio Arroyo Jr. (Neg. Occ., 5th district), Vice Governor Isidro Zayco, Himamaylan Mayor Carminia Bascon, sugar planter Lito Lacson and former Vice Gov. Romeo Gamboa, a source at the wedding said.

Paduano's bride, who works at a government agency, was a former classmate of his, the source said. Gov. Joseph Maraņon said he was not a godparent at the wedding and was unable to go because of a prior commitment.

As to the call of Paduano's ex-wife for child support, the governor said that is a personal matter that they should solve among themselves.

Jenelyn Jurisprudencia Paduano, the ex-wife of Paduano, is demanding that he comply with a court order requiring him to pay child support of P12,000 a month for their four children, which she said he has failed to do so despite apparently living a lavish lifestyle.

The court has annulled the marriage of Stephen and Jenelyn with finality. Paduano has refused to answer the claims of his ex-wife through the media saying the matter is personal.*CPG
