The newly-organized Organik na Negros Producers and Retailers Association elected
its officers for 2007 - 2008 Friday at the Capitol Social Hall, a press release
from the provincial information office said. Elected were
Ramon Peņalosa of the Mirasol Development Corporation, president; Eva dela Merced
of Broad Initiative for Negros Development, vice president; Francine Uy of Fresh
Start, secretary and Julie Ann Gepielago of Alter Trade, treasurer;
The members of the Board of Directors are Ahmon Ledesma of Free Grow and Negros
Organic Association Movement; Josephine Celestial - Victorias Milling Company
Farmers' Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Inc., Ramon Uy - RU Foundry and Development
Corp., Hermie Cordero - Green Negros Inc., and Marily Manuel of the Sagay - Organic
Producers in the Island of Negros, the press release said. The election was conducted
during the Organic Market Producers and Retailers' Meeting held on the same day,
attended by organic producers and retailers of Negros Occidental, in support of
Gov. Joseph Maraņon's bid to make the Negros Island an organic food capital of

PICPA to hold induction
The Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants-Negros Occidental Chapter
will hold its general membership meeting and 57th annual joint induction of officers
on the theme "Synergy 4 Value," at 6 p.m. Friday, at the La Proa of L'Fisher Hotel,
in Bacolod City, a PICPA press release said. To be inducted
are chapter officers, committee chairpersons, and sectoral and regional council
officers. PICPA national president Andres Cabuyadao will
induct the 2007-2008 chapter officers. They are Mansueta Rios
- president, Consejo Granada - executive vice-president, Jane Lamboso - secretary,
Jennifer Manganti - assistant secretary, Maria Lizette Tamayo - treasurer, Lorena
Losaņes - assistant treasurer, Eva Torres - auditor, and sector directors Socorro
Victoria de Leon - education, Erma Grace Bandada - commerce and industry, Percival
Salado Jr. - government, Arturo Tondo - public practice, and Felix Cena - ex-oficio,
the press release said. The new CPAs will take their oath before BOA member, Ma.

IN CEBU AIM
brings back program
The Asian Institute of Management will bring back the Managing Family Corporations
Program to Cebu on the theme "A Healthy Family in a Healthy Business," a press
release from event organizers said. The FAMCOR program will
be held at the City Sports Club on July 30 to August 3, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
daily. The family business management course is aimed at
helping identify and analyze the key issues and challenges in a family corporation.
Through the viewpoints of business family dynamics and family business systems,
participants will be able to develop and implement improvements to ensure growth,
particularly for entrepreneurs, family members and professional managers of family-owned
businesses, the press release said. AIM said it believes
that family corporations and SME's, which comprise 99 percent of registered businesses,
employing 70 percent of the country's workforce, should not be neglected.
Program fee is P40,000 and will cover tuition, materials, lunch, snacks and the
