Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia yesterday presented his new management team for 2007-2010 that he believes is composed of a very competent, strong and committed set of officials.

Allan Zamora remain as City Legal Officer, while City Agriculturist Goldwyn Nifras took over the position of Roger Balo as Secretary to the Mayor.

Balo replaced Lorendo Dilag as City Administrator.

Joining the team are former BACIWA general manager Vicente Petierre Sr., and Jose Marie Vargas, former executive assistant of former Negros Occidental Governor and now Presidential Assistant Lito Coscolluela, and Benjie Torre, a former executive assistant of Talisay City.

Leonardia and his new management team paid a courtesy call on the Sangguniang Panlungsod during its inaugural session yesterday to bring tidings of peace, harmony and cooperation, which he said, will translate to the development, progress and prosperity of the city.

Petierre's work assignment covers the Sectoral Concerns, Senior Citizens, Bacolod Police Office, and Bacolod Traffic Authority Office; Torre - Tourism, and Sports, Culture and Arts; and Vargas - Human Resource Management Office, Management Information Technology and Computer Services, and Crisis Management, Rescue, Planning and Operation and Flood Control.

Others executive assistants are Butch Soliguen whose work assignment covers the Public Affairs and Assistance Office, and Association of Barangay Chairmen, Alex Coloso - Bacolod Boys Home, Bacolod Jail, Administrative Services, and Fire Protection; Jose Villanueva - City Budget, City Accountant's Office, Commission on Audit, City Treasurer's and City Assessor's Office;

Moises de la Cruz - Public Employment and Services Office, TESDA, and Department of Labor and Employment; Reynaldo Ebreo - Vehicles Control, Operations and Maintenance of Buildings/Grounds/Parks, and the General Services Office; Salvador Malibong - City Planning and Development Office, City Engineer's Office, and Office of the Building Official;

Ernesto Pineda - City Veterinary and Slaughterhouse, City Agriculture, and Socio-Economic Enterprise Unit; Ramon Lozana - Public Information Office, City Publication, Education/Bacolod City College, and City Library; Valentine Jamelo - Department of Public Services, Bacolod Housing Authority, and Environment and Natural Resources Office, Edwina Javier - City Mayor's Administrative Assistant, and Appointment Secretary; and Leo Bentinganan - Private Secretary II.

Nifras will handle Bacolod City Health Office, Social Services, Office of the Civil Registrar, and City Population Office;

Leonardia said he hopes his management team will live up to the expectations of the people. He said they, together with the department heads, will work as a team for the good of the city.

Leonardia said they will implement the "buddy system" where one will have an assistant in order that the services will not be hampered in case of absence.*CGS
