Governor Emilio Macias II wants to extend the working hours at the Capitol, to accomplish his administration's 12-point agenda within his three years and provide the people more and better opportunities.

Macias said there are only 36 months in three years, and with 40 working hours a week of employees there will be only 6,248 hours or working time.

He added that the employees working time can even be affected by the seasonal "habagat" in the area of road construction and other infrastructure.

Bais bet concedes defeat
BY MARICAR ARANAS

Mayoralty candidate Francisco "Boy" Villanueva in Bais City, Oriental Negros, conceded defeat to incumbent Mayor Hector "Tata" Villanueva after the canvassing of election returns resumed Tuesday.

But although he is ready to accept the decision of the board of canvassers, Boy said he had no trust and confidence in the BoC and claimed that some of its members are city hall workers.

Earlier, he had filed a petition against the BOC for allegedly using casual employees of the Bais government as support staff. He said the people of Bais know how he fought and will be fighting for justice, and he was just following what is right under the law.

Mayors seeking revival
of Metro Dumaguete
BY ROMY AMARADO

Some mayors of neighboring towns of Dumaguete City are now clamoring for the reactivation of the "Metro Dumaguete" to coordinate efforts in addressing common concerns.

The Metro Dumaguete was organized in 1995 by Dumaguete Mayor Agustin Perdices and former mayors Edgar Teves of Valencia and Enrique Jariol of Sibulan, and Lenin Alviola of Bacong, through a memorandum of agreement.

Under this concept, localities coordinated with each other such areas of transportation, agriculture, infrastructure, and peace and order.
