Motorcycle thief collared

A suspected motorcycle thief was collared by the police, Wednesday, at EJ Blanco Drive, in Brgy. Piapi, Dumaguete City.

Nabbed was Juric Soriano, 21, of Brgy. Sac-sac, Bacong, Oriental Negros after Gernard Aguilar reported to the police that Soriano took his Honda Wave 125 motorcycle. Policemen chased the suspect who lost control of the vehicle and fell on the road.

Seized from Soriano during the apprehension was a .22 caliber revolver tucked in his waistband, police said. He admitted owning the gun but failed to show documents for it and refused to divulge where he got it.

He denied stealing the motorcycle, saying he only borrowed it from his friend and was on his way to return it when he figured in the accident. The police is investigating the records of the suspect who will probably be charged with violations of illegal possession of firearms and for theft.*MA
