Gov. Joseph Maraņon will receive the "Go Negosyo" Most Inspiring
Negrense Entrepreneur Award from the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship
for Mambukal Resort, as an excellent role model for aspiring entrepreneurs
and whose success story is inspiration for others, a Capitol press
release said yesterday.
President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo will hand the awards on July
13, at the University of St. La Salle Coliseum in Bacolod City during
the "Go Negosyo sa Bacolod".
Mambukal Resort, whose renovation was a priority of the administration
of Maraņon, is run by the province of Negros Occidental under the
Economic Enterprise and Development. Located in Minoyan, Murcia,
Mambukal Resort lies 1,200 feet above sea level and serves as gateway
to Mt. Kanlaon.
The awardees under the Business Entrepreneurs are Tumandok,
Bayo, Yaman Group of Companies, Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce
and Industry, Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation, ECJ Farms, Foodman,
Lopue's Group of Companies, Dr. Pablo O. Torre Memorial Hospital,
and Chicken House.
Awardees under the Business Support Organization are the Association
of Negros Producers, the Information Technology Focus Team, Negros
Kabisig, and University of St. La Salle-Business Resource Center.
It is the first time that "Go Negosyo" will be held in Bacolod,
the press release added.*
