Cops nab rape
suspect in Candoni

A suspect charged for molesting a college student in Bacolod City, was arrested yesterday by the police in Candoni, Negros Occidental.

Senior Inspector Santiago Rapiz, Candoni police chief, identified the suspect as Renel Jamili, 23, who was nabbed at his residence in Brgy. Banga, Candoni. The arrest warrant of Jamili was signed by Judge Gorgonio Ybanez who also denied him bail.

Rapiz said Jamili allegedly met the 19-year-old victim whose identity is being withheld, on Jan. 3, dated and brought her to a hotel in Bacolod City. The victim who was reportedly bleeding, was hospitalized, police investigations showed.

Jamili, Rapiz said, was surprised that he was being charged for rape. Ybanez ordered Rapiz to immediately remit Jamili to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology for detention.*GPB
