ASSFBI bets Pete Aplaon and Sylvia Del Rosario reigned supreme in their respective division in the recent Active Solid Strikers Fellowship Bowlers Inc. Mid-Year Singles Event at the New Top's Millennium Plaza in Bacolod City.

Aplaon downplayed top qualifier Hernand Garciniego of Negros Professional Bowlers Club in the battle for the top prize, 123-117, while Del Rosario won over Remy Villanueva in the women's bracket, 110-108. Before their final showdown, Garciniego defeated Allan Baer in the semi-final, 118-114 while Aplaon nipped Rene Buencochillo, 119-108.

Baer downed Tikboy Empleo of Panasonic in the quarterfinal, while Buencochillo defeated Norman Pineda to earn a ticket to the semis. In the women's quarterfinal games, Lars del Castillo ripped Mildred Coleongco and Precy beat Sharon Sioson.

In the next round, Del Castillo lost to Del Rosario, while Pillo bowed to Villanueva in the deciding contest.

Forty bowlers participated in the men's division, while 14 joined in the ladies' category. Meanwhile, ASSFBI will be hosting the Tiglimahan Bowling Tournament scheduled July 15 at the same venue.*
