Officials take oath of office
BY MARICAR ARANAS

Mayor-elect Mark Adanza took his oath of office along with members of the Municipal Council in Zamboanguita, Oriental Negros, before Judge Rogaciano Rivera of the Municipal Circuit Trial Court of Santa Catalina, recently.

Adanza is the youngest elected chief executive of the town so far. Sworn in with him were Vice Mayor Mario Pinili and Councilors Samson Elnar, Deodoro Partosa, Rufino Tugacon, Reynaldo Banua, Felipe Elmido Sr., Girtorio Ta-an, Rustico Elnasin and Glenson Alanano.

Adanza is the son of Provincial Board Member Marcelo Adanza and former Mayor Lourdes Adanza of Zamboaguita.

He ran for mayor after his mother withdrew her candidacy a week before the May 14 polls.

The new mayor thanked the people of his town who, he said, trusted and supported him. He said waterworks and farm to market roads will be the top priorities of his three -year term.

He said potable water supply is one of the major problem in Zamboaguita which he intends to solve first. A spring in sitio Bukal-bukal in Barangay Nahandig in Zamboanguita will be developed to become the source of potable water for the people, he said.

Former Rep. Herminio Teves (3rd District, NegOr) has donated P2 million last year to purchase polyteline pipes for the project. The construction has reached Barangay Malungcay Gamay in Zamboguita.*MA
