Coop bank gets BSP nod;
set to open in last quarter

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas will hold the 2007 Stakeholders' Awards rites today at the BSP Assembly Hall in Manila to honor its partners from the business and government sectors, it said in a press release. Those who will be given recognition are those continually supporting the BSP in its statistical undertakings and information needs.

For the fourth time, the BSP will award the best respondents to BSP surveys, including the Business Expectations Survey, Cross Border Transactions Survey, Foreign Direct Investment Survey, and Coordinated Portfolio Investment Survey, the press release said.

The BSP will also recognize commercial banks that facilitate the reporting and inflow of overseas Filipinos' remittances and exporters that generate significant foreign exchange resources. It will also be give awards to institutional partners that provide valuable information support for the BSP's analysis on monetary developments and policies.

Two survey respondents who have already won the annual award three times will be elevated to the Hall of Fame, the press release added.*
