set to open in last quarter

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas will hold the 2007 Stakeholders' Awards rites today at the BSP Assembly Hall in Manila to honor its partners from the business and government sectors, it said in a press release. Those who will be given recognition are those continually supporting the BSP in its statistical undertakings and information needs.

For the fourth time, the BSP will award the best respondents to BSP surveys, including the Business Expectations Survey, Cross Border Transactions Survey, Foreign Direct Investment Survey, and Coordinated Portfolio Investment Survey, the press release said.

Boracay Chamber still supporting
land titling move in island-resort

The Boracay Chamber of Commerce and Industry has maintained its support to the government move to require residents and resort owners of the island-resort to secure titles for their properties.

"We're supporting the government stand on land titling-issue because we know it's good for us," BCCI president Charles Uy said during his recent visit to Bacolod City.

Uy told the DAILY STAR the BCCI position on the land titling issue is based on a thorough research, which shows that resort owners will benefit from such move.
